another workaround is creating an advanced search report, the steps are explained here: Is there a way to only see Tasks only and not Sub-tasks in "My Tasks" view? - #6 by Paul_Grobler

Did you consider pushing them to Later? Or set up dependencies so you know which ones are blocked and which ones aren’t?

Two years+ after the last comment, this is still a pain point.

It is really a pain point. Very difficult to manage with so much clutter. Can we get a solution of the problem mentioned in this thread.

Just updated the thread to In Development - though what is currently in development is work that get us to this feature over the next few quarters. Over the next 3-9 months we’re completely overhauling subtasks, so we appreciate your patience!
