Feature Request: Multi-Response Form or Team Form That Creates One Task (Log or Report)

Asana is awesome — especially the Forms feature, which has made data collection much easier. However, we’re running into a major limitation when trying to streamline team reporting thus forcing us to create the ‘Team Form’ inside the task description. (As shown on attached image).


The Problem
Currently, when multiple team members submit responses through a Form, Asana creates a new task for each submission. While this works for individual input, it creates unnecessary fragmentation when we need to collect group input into one centralized summary — especially for:

  • Weekly log or bi-weekly team reports
  • Ministry or event logs
  • Group check-ins
  • Leadership recaps

In our case, we have a Log Report task with template inside the task description used after every service or event. We want our team to each respond to the same questions (sections like attendance, issues, positive feedbacks, suggestions, material needs, etc.), but we need just one final task with all the team’s answers shown in a single location.

Right now, we’re forced to either:

  • Manually merge individual tasks into one (extra admin work)
  • Or avoid using Forms altogether and rely on messy task descriptions where each person input their log next to their name. (See image for example)

The Feature We’re Requesting
Please consider adding an option in Asana Forms to:

  • Collect multiple responses from different people
  • Combine all their inputs into one unified task (rather than creating separate tasks)

This would let our team collaboratively contribute to a single report, with each person’s answers labeled and displayed under or next to their name — just like a shared document, but built inside the Asana task description.


Why This Matters

  • One form creates only one task as Log or Report
  • Makes group reporting clean, centralized, and efficient
  • Minimizes admin work (no copy/paste from multiple tasks)
  • Supports collaborative workflows in teams
  • Aligns with your existing “Forms + Tasks” flow — just needs an advanced collection mode

Possible Solution?

Add a “Multi-Response Form” or a “Team Form”.

“Merge all responses from this single Form into one task (instead of creating separate tasks per submission).”

That’d also solve a challenge we have for onboarding clients, where either:

  • we’d need to create several forms and merge the information
  • or not require the fields we do need, have them submit the form mulitple times, and then merge the information.
  • or have the client first gather all info before submitting.

A challenge though, would be to protect the content of the half filled form, as you wouldn’t want to have this floating half accessible to a third party in between submission and reception. Maybe a censoring that only allows to see/edit the questions would be a solution.

Practically id’t be collaborating on a form submission, like status updates currently allow. Inside an organisation this’d be easier as the first responder would be able to add collaborators. Maybe a similar option would work with email verification.
