Does the API support modifying custom field values for *Project-level* custom fields (note: the CFs visible from inside a portfolio)?

I see support for working with Portfolio custom fields and custom field settings.

But, I do not see API support for modifying a project’s custom field selected/entered values at the project level.

I think it’s found here:

Update a project

Then click DATA OBJECT, then click CUSTOM_FIELDS OBJECT.
