Description Field Not Saving Text on Exit

Hello Asana Support Team,

I am writing to report a bug we have been experiencing in our Asana workspace that is impacting our team’s ability to reliably document task information.

Issue Summary:
When adding or editing text in the Description field of a task, the content is not being saved upon clicking outside the text box (i.e., on blur/focus loss). As a result, the entered text disappears and must be retyped.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Open any task.
  2. Click on the Description field and type new text.
  3. Click outside the Description field to exit it.
  4. Observe that the text entered is not saved and disappears.

Expected Behavior:
Text entered in the Description field should be saved automatically when the user exits the field.

Actual Behavior:
The text is lost upon exiting the field, requiring the user to re-enter it manually.

Impact:
This is a critical issue for our team. We risk losing important task information and are forced to re-enter data repeatedly, which significantly affects our productivity and data integrity.

Please treat this as a high-priority issue. We would appreciate any workaround in the meantime while a fix is being investigated.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

@Rene_Velarde have you already put in an urgent support ticket for this? As a temporary workaround until support gets to you, I would maybe create a custom text field in your projects called “Notes” and use that for any typed info that you need to make note of for your tasks. Then once support fixes your bug, you can create a manually run rule that transfers anything in the “Notes” text field to your task descriptions by batch selecting all of your tasks and manually running the rule.

Thanks for your advice @neonrain.club , whera can I put in the urgent support ticket for this?

There should be a button to begin a chat with their AI chatbot. Explain in the chat of what’s going on (you can just copy and paste your original issue text in this post) and say you would like to immediately open a support ticket. The chat will ask you the priority level and then write the support ticket for you.
