Deleting Comments Generated by Automation Rules

I currently have the task type in my project set to “Approvals.” Whenever a task is marked as “Approved” or “Rejected,” an automation rule adds a comment like “Approved @user + feedback” or “Rejected @user + feedback.”

The issue is that these comments are auto-generated, so if someone accidentally marks a task as approved instead of rejected (or vice versa), they can’t delete the comment afterward. This ends up creating confusion in the comment thread.

Is there any way to delete comments created by automation rules? These are the only comments I’m unable to remove, even though I’ve confirmed that I’m the rule owner.

Hi @ajy_sf , thank you for posting!
The person who triggered the rule (as in marked the trigger task as approved or rejected) should be able to delete the comment created by accident. Can you please confirm if that’s the case?

I have this same question! I do not see an option to delete the comment…

At the moment, Asana does not appear to allow deletion of comments that were generated by automation rules/system actions — even for the rule owner.

What i did was generating comments when custom field “Approval Status” is changed, here dropdown list contains the same options as the approval task type have.
