Default view archived projects on home + done tasks visible in project

Hello,

I have two questions regarding view of asana:
1)How to (by default) hide archived projects in home screen?
2)How to (by default) show (for example on the bottom) done tasks in the project. It could be crossed and greyed out

Thank you very much for letting me know. It would make using asana easier and faster

Kind regards,
Richard Kozlowski

Welcome to the Forum @Ryszard_Kozlowski and thank you for reaching out!

Those are great questions! Let me see if I can help you here!

  1. The projects that you see in the Home Screen are the one’s you have marked as Favorite. They also show up in your side bar. To hide an archive project in the Home screen, you just need to unfavorite it by following these steps:
  1. Click the three dot icon when hovering over a project
  2. Select Remove from Favorites
  1. In every project, you can select your preferred view using one of the options: Incomplete tasks, Complete tasks or All tasks. Please see screenshot attached.

Once you select it, you can click on the three dots at the right corner and Save the layout as default and the preferred view be saved for everyone you’re collaborating with.

If you choose the All tasks view you could create a Section called “Completed” and move all your Completed tasks to that particular sections. This way you will have all of them grouped in one place at the bottom of your project.

I hope this helps @Ryszard_Kozlowski but please let me know if you have any follow-up question!
Have a great Friday!

Hello,

I cannot remove it from favourites unfortunatelly

Regarding seeing closed task in project. Sure I can see it. But even if i click “All tasks” when I go back to the project it still shows only the non-complited ones. I do not wan’t to click each time “All tasks”

Hello, I see all Archived Projects on my Home screen. NONE of them are marked as a Favorite. How do I hide them?

Also, it would be nice to be able to sort them, and not have the order switch based on when they were opened. It would be a lot easier to find/work with if they sorted alphabetically be default for example. Is this being considered for future releases>

I would also like to see a solution that AMY_DILLON proposed.

Any updates to this issue. We want to keep project history so we archive all projects instead of deleting them. but all of the archives show on my home dashboard even with all task marked completed and none of them set to favorites

The issue is that Archived Projects still appear in “Recent Projects.” When someone archives a project, they are saying, “I don’t want to look at this anymore.” Recent projects should only show recent projects that ARE NOT ARCHIVED. At minimum, there should be a filter setting available. It is extremely distracting.

The Recent Projects section of the homepage is more of an activity tracker. Yes, as projects are archived or data within is changed these will show temporarily. However, after some time they should no longer be listed as there is activity in other projects.

I could see value in being able to filter them out, but from the perspective of showing recent activity I like that they are listed.

Hide and do not show the “Archived Projects” in Home - Recent Project already have a solution?

This is the same issue I’m having. Any resolution?

This is not true. All projects that you create as the project manager show up on the Home Screen…not just favorited items. The favorite items just stay sticky at the top.

How can we remove archived (a.k.a. completed) projects from our Home Screen so that we’re only viewing active projects. For a project management software, the lack of this functionality seems pretty insane.

Me too very frustrating

We are still waiting, right?

Has anyone found a solution for this? This is making everything incredibly cluttered.

Totally agree with this, my way to navigate between projects is to use the Home View. I have just archived a load of projects and they are still there. It is pretty annoying - can’t Asana implement a quick fix to hide archive projects from home view? Reading the comments above I seem to be far from the only one who is affected by this.

If they are archived what functionality does it have to have them front and centre in home view?

I don’t want to use the favourite project tool - I just want all of my active projects in one place easy to view.

I know they can be accessed by the tool bar on the left side is not wide enough to see the titles properly.

Some additional option to customise the home screen view would also be welcome - list view for projects for example or smaller icons to help with navigation and see more on a page.

Hi and Happy New Year,

Is there a solution to hide archived project by now?

Thanks!
