Exactly, @Jeremy_Long ! The Overview tab then takes the awkward position of sitting between List and Board, or having to shift it further to the right.
Agree! My career in UX/usability/interaction design tells me this is ill-advised because it takes control away from the user. It should be their option.
I agree with the above comments; I haven’t seen it but don’t like the idea.
This; and also I think it creates more cognitive dissonance - instead of being able to expect a certain consistent placement of tabs (i.e. I know Overview always comes first, etc.), you now have to look and think about the order of tabs as you visit each particular project.
having the default be visually distinct but not move (maybe bold?) would be better I think. I really like the consistency of always having overview, list, board as first tabs in that order rather than have the default shift without my consent. If I wanted it at the front I would have placed it there.
I was welcomed with this popup this morning. Not a pleasant welcome, I must say. I agree with everyone that this is not very helpful. Unless they have other plans with the overview tab…
Adding my vote here. We see this change in our space and my main problem is how the Overview tab now gets moved and put in a weird order. Hopefully the roll it back.
Thank you for sharing your feedback! We’ll make sure to pass it along to the team. Just to set expectations, while we’ll share it promptly, implementing changes—especially those tied to A/B tests—can take some time. Typically, adjustments aren’t made until the experiment runs its full course.
It’s landed in my instance, and it threw me off much as I expected.
I rearranged the tabs as I noticed the order was off, which apparently changed the overview tab into the default tab.
So now my autistic ass is torn between keeping the “correct” order of tabs starting with Overview, List, and Board - the order all of my project tabs start with - or setting the default I want.
I am highly opposed to this change and I hope this gets reversed sooner rather than later.
