date formula creation

Hi community,

Trying to run a date formula that copies the excel code in which, when a due date is changed, it has a flow-on effect for other tasks that need to be changed.

For example, we have a site opening due date for 1st march 2026, we have some tasks that are due 30 days prior, some due 5 days after, etc. If we change the opening date to 2nd March 2026, ideally we want all the tasks to be changed accordingly based on the duration time either before or after opening.

Is this possible? If not, could we have the developers look into formula creation for dates? As an event project mgmt software this seems like a massive oversight (unless I am just looking in the wrong spots)

We have tried several different rules & triggers which have not worked, we’ve tried external parties like Zapier to integrate formulas but this too has not worked.

At a loss! Hoping someone can help :slight_smile:

Here’s an answer I gave to a similar question as yours:

There are settings that affect this feature’s behavior so there are some options; sounds lke you want “Maintain buffer.”

Thanks Larry, we have tried dependencies but could not get it to marry up to all the tasks individually.

I will have another go with your suggestion and hopefully have more luck. Thank you for the response!
