Seeing as there haven’t been any movement on the topic, I’m posting this here to hopefully get more eyes on this as there is no documentation on this anywhere online, nor on the Slack & Asana app homepage. But it appears there was a silent update to how the Slack integration works.
.
.
It appears YOU CAN now change how you’re notified in Slack. However, it isn’t available to all users.
.
.
Here are how the notification settings for Slack appear for one of two profiles I use. Notice that besides having the toggle for “Notify me via Slack”, there are no other settings. This is how the slack notifications use to be configured.
.
.
Here are how the notification settings appear on my second profile which appears to be using, somehow, a new version of the integration. Here we have a plethora of settings to alter what is and isn’t being triggered. This is exactly what everyone needs; it allows a user to tailor what they’re getting slack messages for and not be bombarded by a storm of unnecessary pings.

.
.
Now you may think, surely this must mean I can update them from within Slack by using “/asana settings!” for either version of the integration?
Nope, it sends you back in a circle to Asana, where you have no control
.
.
I have tried revoking, removing and then reauthorizing and adding the Slack integration to both profiles and in BOTH cases, the settings remain different for both profiles.
.
.
My question then is how can we make it so that ALL our users have access to these customizable notifications? So far, we’ve already found a couple users who have access to these customized settings, but only a small handful of our overall user base. This would be HUGE for our organization as we could optimize everyone’s notification settings once and for all

Thank you,
Ludwig
