Customisable Home tab

I think the home screen is the lest useful part of Asana. It would be great to be able to create a customised layout on the home screen view of Asana. Where a user could specify tiles or customisable sections to be placed there. The main benefit of a feature like this is that it enables users to create more focus and quick access to features of Asana that relate closely to their role in an organisation. Some ideas about what kind of widgets could be placed on the home screen:

  • The current sections - tasks due soon, favourites, recent projects.
  • Quick add for a new task
  • Messages I’ve sent/received
  • Short list of notifications
  • Results from a saved search
  • Recent media uploads
  • A widget/graph that is exported from a project dashboard
  • Free text widget for important information or links etc.
  • Organisation wide “Messsage of the day” or the organisation mission statement
  • Goals progress

I would love to see the Home page show recent Status Updates / messages from teams you’re a part of.

I think a customizable experience with the home page would be really helpful! I live out of this screen - would be awesome to folder/nest projects and customize sections on the screen. I also liked the earlier idea mentioned in this thread for a quick-add. Any updates on timelines for making home page updates?

I just wanted to throw my vote in with these fine folks and say how helpful a customizable Home Screen would be.

NECESSARY: moveable widgets for various elements, inbox feed, text widgets, smart widgets (display filtered elements), shortcuts to favorites, quick-add button.

ICING ON THE CAKE: customizable colors, header image, organization logo placement, and a “message of the day” or Mission Statement feature as mentioned by Adam would be amazing.

EXAMPLE: The way I can customize my home screen in Evernote is a great practical example of high functionality for the Asana home screen.

I’d love to open my Home Tab and see all the items I’m most focused on. To be able to customize it so I can view everything at once. (Similar to Notion)

Welcome to the Asana Community Forum, @Ashley_Dadaglio! and thanks for sharing your feedback with us. We already have a thread on this topic so I’ve gone ahead and merge your post with Customisable Home tab to consolidate feedback. We hope to have news about this feature soon!

Is the customize home color feature only for premium/trial members. I have this on a new account I created but not an option on my old account. How do I do it?

Love the Blue option. Especially having multiple organizations it’ll help easily recognize the different accounts

Hi @Dan_Lahey, thanks for reaching out! We are gradually rolling out the new Home tab and it’s currently only available to new customers. We are planning to launch it to all customers in early February. I’ll update this thread as soon as we start to roll it out to all customers

I came here for this very reason!

Is the new home tab available for existing users yet… Wondering why existing users wouldn’t get first dibs at it.

Is there a subthread/forum for submitting widget suggestions yet?

The new home page layout … some of the customization is great, but I I dislike how small the icons have gotten (and we can’t seem to customize that view) and I REALLY wish we could adjust the projects widget window to see more at a time as well. I need the high level view over the individual tasks, so that is more important to me. Everytime I come back to that home page, I have to “show more”. Small thing, I get it, but it is the small things that drive one mad.
