In some projects, PM requires to set multiple tabs for reviewing progress by category, or to provide specific groups of users with valuable information related to their role.
This might result in a significant number of tabs which might be only relevant for a few users, while some other might need a different set.
A feature that enables to show/hide specific ones would be very handy → Users can choose which tabs to keep displayed while always having a chance to recover the hidden ones, and even create their own views.

Agree with this!! We’re working on a master project to house all BRIEFs for our campaigns and activations, and having a view per team and/or a board for Leadership to see what we’re all working on. The project itself is so large that it refreshes multiple times as you scroll through, sometimes not allowing you to reach the bottom of the full Master list. But the Views tabs at top can be so numerous that they’re distracting.

I believe I had this issue at the start of my Asana Implementation where I had multiple category teams. I used a workaround using multihoming rules to clear out the tab clutter while actually improving privacy for each category team.
The Master Project: Keep one main project as the single source of truth containing all tasks (if an intake project) or one main portfolio containing all projects (for timebound projects)
Category Projects & Portfolios: Create a separate project (for intake tasks), or separate portfolio (for projects) for each team/category.
Automate with Rules: Set up a rule in the Master Project with the category as a custom field: “If a task is marked ‘Category A’, multihome it to the ‘Category A Project’.”
Each category or team then works out of their own category portfolio, meaning they can create their own specific view tabs without cluttering the main project. Or you can standardise across all categories, without clogging up the main project with tabs for everyone. Also works well for specific category dashboards and reporting on specific category via the category portfolio, or all projects with the main.
Unlike tabs (which everyone can see), you can make these category projects private, allowing you to restrict permissions so teams only see and edit what they are supposed to.
I hope this helps in the interim, I do think it would be good to be able to hide tabs so I’ve also submitted my vote
