I believe that the ability to lock custom fields so that users can’t edit them should be added to the premium version.
One of the fetures of the premium package is the ability to create custom fields and it is kind of weird not be able to control who can edit them…
It feels like enableling a haf baked feature… We are trying to implement Asana into our org and we are starting to have cases were people edit fields and don’t realize they are impacting the whole org…

To be honest, that’s probably the goal: made you realise you grew enough to need the Business plan. I don’t work for Asana, but I understand the logic: they have to provide enough value to allow you to work, but still add some little missing things here and there so you update…
thanks for your reply @Bastien_Siebman… well, I can’t of disagree with that… I would understand maybe limiting the number of custom fields in some tiers (linking that to your idea of our business has grown enough that we need to move to the business plan) but not limiting the core of this feature.
Being able to lock fields is a must when having custom fields - if not you are generating issues within the organization like it happens. People editing fields without realizing the impact in others contributors of the organization.
I am trying to roll out asana across several teams within the organization and I can already foresee the issues related with this…
Asana shouldn’t need to block half features in others tiers to add value to the business tiers. This should be done with extra features like “goals”, “portofolios” (which I can of like to be honest)…
