Hi folks,
I’m looking to build Knowledge base “Wiki” areas which are not tasks, they are simply items. Is there a specific project template/task type I can use for that?
Thanks in advance,
Adam

Hi Adam,
We use Asana to document processes and as a space to compile information about projects, etc. One template that might be helpful to use is the Etiquette and Conventions template to help you in the onboarding process.
Although, I’m having a hard time finding the template within Asana. I believe that I got access to the template through one of the Asana Academy courses, but it should be in Asana as a template as well. @Marie is there still a template for establishing conventions and etiquette in Asana? I think it would be an example of a wiki to show him.
Cheers,
Katie
Hi Katie,
I’m trying to set up a similar KB or repository for our organization. I was using each task to represent the document, or documents, affiliated with the (task) description.
The biggest issue I see is if someone marks this “task” as “complete”. It would fall off the default view. Is there a way around that?
Hi @anon59828738. One option is to change the project view to “All Tasks” (vs completed tasks) and then click the 3 dots in upper right corner and “Save layout as default”.
This was really helpful. I just wanted to revisit and ask if the Establishing Conventions and Etiquette template was still available to import to our Asana instance? I saw it in the Ambassador training and I was hoping to snag the template instead of creating one from scratch.
I think the Template is a good way to help our users establish a great foundation before starting their Asana journey. I would really love to implement it into our training program we are developing within the company.
After attending the Roll Out Assan to your Team Training today, they pointed out a link used to obtain the project template for conventions. It’s titled differently, which I think may have been difficult to find since the Ambassador training mentioned the older title of the project template.
For anyone who may need the template, this is the link to the current project template for conventions. https://asa.na/asana-conventions
Thank you @anon57844490! My team is just starting to look for something like this. Using Asana would be much better than introducing another tool.
What software powers Asana’s own community forum and knowledgebase?
The Asana community forum is built using the https://www.discourse.org platform.
The Asana Guide (the knowledgebase) is built using https://statamic.com.
Thank you Phil!
Is there a way to create tasks that can’t be “completed”, even by the owner? I know you can make a comment-only project, but the owner can still accidentally “complete” tasks.
