Creating a custom due date field in portfolio view

I want to create a custom due date field in portfolio view, where I can enter the date when I need to take action on a certain project. I would like this field to turn red once the date has passed.

Is this at all possible?

Your portfolio date custom field won’t turn red, but as a workaround, you might be able to add another formula field to calculate the date vs today and have that resulting value be your flag.
