Create a way to update task and subtask due dates automatically when a project's due date changes

Hi: I’m so eager for Asana to close their functionality gap that prevents tasks due dates from being auto-updated based on a project’s overall due date. We have projects with hundreds of tasks and have invested time in setting those tasks up in our templates with relative due dates - all tied to the project’s due date. But: when a project’s due date shifts, we currently have to manually edit ALL of our task due dates. I’ve tried highlighting / dragging / moving tasks in the timeline view but it’s so clunky and imprecise! I also tried setting up an AI rule, but Asana’s AI admitted it can’t edit task due dates. Most recently, I tried creating a Task Management AI Teammate who also woefully admitted it couldn’t change task due dates. I know others have requested this feedback before and I’m really curious why Asana hasn’t made this happen! It would save my team an enormous amount of time.

Welcome, @Andrea_Bachofen,

Don’t forget to click the title to scroll to the top and vote by clicking the Vote button; that’s the quickest and most effective way to express your support for a request.

Not to negate your request, but until/if it is implemented…

Would changing the +/- zoom level (weeks, months, quarters, etc.) help with this? And are you lasooing the set of tasks by left click and hold down while moving to the end of the range to select?

Alternatively, do you use dependencies between tasks and do a date change for the ending task; an option is offered to change upstream dates, and there’s a choice of what to do with slack between dates.

Thanks,

Larry
