Create a Task template with the API?

We are working on a big Asana to Asana migration with altosio, and the customer is asking if we could migrate their Task templates.

We checked the APIs and it does not seem like there is a way to create a Task template from a Task. I know there is an API to create a Task from a template, but is there a way to create a template from a Task?

You’re correct – it’s not currently possible to create Task Templates through the API, and I’m afraid there isn’t a workaround available at this time.

That said, I agree this could be a valuable feature, so I’ve raised it with our API team for review. I can’t provide a timeline for if or when it might be implemented, but you can keep an eye on our changelog
for the latest updates.
