Hi! I’ve created a task that has multiple subtasks, and each subtask has its own sub-subtasks. I want each of my subtasks have the same sub-subtasks–is there a way to duplicate a subtask with its sub-subtasks like how you can duplicate a task with its subtasks? Thanks!
Hi @Marc_Yu
As a sub task you have the option to duplicate task. Same as the the parent task. Just make sure you don’t in tick the subtask checkbox.
Jason.
Hi Mark assuming you want to duplicate the Encounter 2x Double task. You need to be in that Task the you will see the same Duplicate Task option 3rd down as in the screenshot you shared.
Jason.
Thank you so much!
No worries @Marc_Yu happy to help.
Hey Jason! Newer to the Asanaworld! Is there a way to create Subtask Templates or copy several subtasks? The workaround I used was duplicating a task. Is this what you do? Creating a podcast template in list view and wanted to experiment with the setup.
Welcome to the Asana Community…
Yeah I would create a template task with all the relevant subtasks in a reference project or in a reference section of the Podcast Project the. Duplicate that task with the Subtasks.
Or you could think about making a template project for the Podcast then create a project from that template project each time you have a new podcast
Or final option I can think of now is use an integration tool like flowsana which can copy the the subtasks to your desired task base on a rule.
Hope that helps…
Just be careful how many and how you use Subtasks as there is some limitations, which if you search this community you will find lots of discussions…
Jason…
When makinglists for duplicates, I have a list in a description box to be reused for process tasks.
I copy that list like this short one into the blank task or subtask
Task 1
Task 2
Task 3
Task 4 etc
Putting this into the blank task makes 4 tasks or as many as you have
Hey hadn’t thought about that short cut @anon43534745 that is a good one…
Jason.
Thank you so much Jason (apologies for not getting back to you sooner)!
