When duplicating a section from one project to another, I would like to be able to copy a custom field value for a task and have the value move to the new project.

Hi,
You will want to ensure that the custom fields are saved in your field library…then when moving tasks between projects, the values will not be duplicated and should be transferred correctly

I am actually looking to make sure the values duplicate. I want what I included in the field to move to the new project when I duplicate the tasks.

I tested the behavior and I confirm that custom fields are cleared when duplicating a section into another project.
It doesn’t matter if the field is local or global, or the global field is added to the other project.
It’s a bit inconvenient.
As a workaround, we can first duplicate the section within the same project.
Then, we can create a same section in the other project, and bulk-move the tasks to the project.
Or, you could consider multihoming the tasks under the section as @Fario_Consulting suggested 
I am trying to do this but it does not work. I’ve tried duplicating the task and adding it to another project, I’ve made sure my fields are saved to my library which they are but it does not duplicate the fields when you add them to a new project it just keeps the fields from the whatever project its in.
