"Convert to Subtask" makes Task show Twice in List

I had someone on my team who was creating Tasks at the top level of the project. No big deal, move them to the correct section and use Convert to Subtask to put them under the various parent Tasks they belong, however…

After doing this the Subtask now appears in the top-level List view as well as under the Parent Task. So the Subtask will now show where I want it, under the Parent but it will also show in the Top level with an indicator that it is Under the parent.

I verified that this is the same Task by deleting it, deleted in both locations. When moving a Task under another, how do I get it to show only once just as if the Subtask had been created through the usual workflow?

Welcome to the forum.

Now your subtask belongs to both a parent task and a project.
You can remove it from a project in the task detail view of the subtask.
