Convert task to subtask by dragging it on top of another task

I would like to be able to convert a task to a subtask by dragging it onto a task, holding it for X seconds, then dropping it (like adding a file to a folder by dragging it over the folder). It would making organizing tasks more efficient, and get around the limitation where only 9 options display when typing in a task name when working to convert tasks to subtasks.

That sounds intuitive. I like the idea.

Don’t forget to vote for your own feedback!

How is this not a thing already? Seems so basic!!

Often I realize that in a list of tasks, one of them should be a sub task of another one.
How easy would it be if I could just grab that task and drop it onto the other one to automatically add it as a sub task.
Currently the process of moving task 1 from the list to be a sub task of task 2 is not very intuitive; you have to first open task 2 and then drag task 1 to the right, into the sub task area.
Nesting sub tasks, so one becomes the sub task of another one isn’t possible because subtasks lack the move handle.
Just grab and drop a task onto another is the way to go!

Hi @Guy_Ha , check out these posts:

and I think this request is similar to this:

or this older one:

Let me know if you would like me to merge yours into any of these, unless you feel it is unique.
And don’t forget to vote for yourself!

Hi Richard,

Thanks for your reply!

Nr. 1 is working, but I feel this solution is counter intuitive and takes too many steps.
Nr. 2 and 3 are similar, although 3 must be quite is old, as there are no 'speech bubbles" to the right anymore, but little triangles to the left to indicate subtasks.
So you can merge mine with Nr. 2.

Thanks!
Guy
