We use templates in Asana for all of our projects, which auto creates all the tasks needed to complete the project.
I can see that I can create new tasks in Asana through Slack, but it would be so much more helpful if we could link a slack message to an existing asana task in a specific project!

Are you looking to connect a message (and its threaded replies?) to an existing task in the comments? Or overwrite the task name or description? Or some other behavior?
Here is an example: A project is ready to be sent to the client for signature. This task is already made in Asana via our project templates. But if I want to message a team member in slack saying its ready to go, is there a way to connect that slack message to the pre-made task in Asana?
@Celine_Doutre - with the pre-built integration, you should be able to do that (see reference here). Basically, right-click on the message and then choose to add message to a task as a comment.
If you want to have this happen automatically based on some trigger, I think you’d need to explore Slack workflow builder.
