Hi Asana Community!
It’s Erica, a Product Marketing Manager here on the Communications team. I wanted to share that connected work links are coming soon to the Asana web, desktop, and mobile apps! Connected work links provide context and access to related work, so your team can move faster!
How are connected work links created?
Connected work links are automatically created when a user @ mentions a task, status update, message, or goal in Asana. These links will appear in the activity feed of the work graph object that has been mentioned. They are tagged with a ↔ symbol.
In this example, Neel references a task in his comment
Neel’s reference appears in the activity feed of that task
How can I interact with connected work links?
There is no limit to the # of connected work links that can appear in the activity feed. Clicking on a specific connected work link will bring you the task, status update, message, or goal in Asana that has been @ mentioned.
Just like other items that appear in the activity feed, connected work links can be deleted manually.
Who can see connected work links?
Connected work links can only be seen by users who have access to the task, status update, message, or goal in Asana in which has been @ mentioned. Users who don’t have access will not see anything. This works similarly to multi-homing - when a task is multi-homed into a new project, only users with access will see that project appear in the list of ‘Projects’.
In this example, Neel has access to the ‘Q3 staffing plan’ task, and thus is able to see the connected work link in the activity feed
Sue does not have access to the ‘Q3 staffing plan’ task, and thus is not able to see the connected work link in the activity feed
Connected work links will be available to all customers in Asana in a couple of days. We will post an update in this thread as soon as we launch it!
If you have questions or feedback about this new feature, we’d love to hear from you!
Thanks!
