I keep track of my tasks in the My Tasks view, but now all my previous closed tasks are in there too. There are hundreds of them, so it’s slowing down the page. I’d assume this is happening with every browser, but I’m on the newest prd version of Chrome if that helps.
You are seeing closed tasks because you have the choice “All tasks” selected in the upper right corner. Click on in it and select “Incomplete tasks” and you should see only the open tasks. This setting should be sticky and remain on Incomplete tasks each time you return to this view.
