The more important problem is that changes to a task description done via MCP do not appear as change even for humans. The task page does not show the typical “User XYZ changed the description. Show difference.” line in the history.
Hi @sebastian.mares and welcome to the forum!
FYI I moved your post to a new topic as it’s about a different matter than the previous thread, and also it was concerning enough (to me anyway) to warrant its own focus.
Hi @sebastian.mares, there shouldn’t be any MCP-specific behavior here. An update from MCP is a normal PUT /tasks/{id} call, so it follows the same story rules as an edit in the product. A real change should still show up a change story. That line may get skipped or folded in the same cases:
- The task creator’s first description edit within 24 hours of creation is omitted, and treated as part of creating the task.
- Another edit by that same person within 24 hours is folded into the existing description story.
- A whitespace-only plaintext change does not create a story.
- A rich-text-only change whose extracted plaintext is unchanged does not create a story.
