Cascading / Waterfall Timelines

Hello!

We just noticed that Asana made an update the now cascades or does the waterfall treatment to our tasks in the Timeline view. When we create a project we manually line all the tasks up to be easier to view horizontally – but with the update, Asana is now cascading our tasks (specifically tasks that are one or two days long) so they are no longer linear but now trickle down. This creates a hurdle for us since we like create large trackers and see how projects stack against either other. With this update, we are encountering a much longer vertical scroll and are having a harder time seeing the full picture of our projects. Has anyone come up with a workaround this?

Thanks!

Hi,

Are you saying Asana reordered your tasks in Timeline view in a project that you manually ordered?

Yes, For me too!

I’m having this same issue - 2 years later. Would love for Asana to fix this and do what ClickUp does - which is it doesn’t force a waterfall on tasks. Just line them up on a single line if they don’t overlap in time.
