Carrying Custom Fields to Projects after converting from Task

I am having this same issue. I want the project custom fields (under project details) to apply to all tasks within the project so they can be multihomed to other projects. For example, the projects custom field ‘Expertise’ would be ‘Hospitality’, I need all tasks within the project to also have ‘Expertise’ custom field to be filled out to ‘Hospitality’. This task then has a rule to multihome this to the Hospitality project so we can track all Hopsitality work.

We desperately need this feature! This is the flow we need:

  1. Form submission
  2. Creates Task with custom fields data
  3. Convert Task to Project
  4. Add custom field data from converted task to Project Overview
  5. Add custom field data to matching custom fields on Project for every task

Everyone gets hung up on #4 and says “that feature is available or possible”. But what we are really talking about is needing #5. For the custom fields to also be carried over to the custom fields that are visible on every task for the new project, as well.

I’m currently trying to use Zapier to maybe help with this, which is pathetic. We desperately need this feature too.
