I suspect that a tag used across multiple collaborative projects on our team has been deleted — or it’s a glitch and it disappeared. To my understanding a tag follower or admin would get an email if a tag was deleted, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. At a loss trying to figure out how to recover it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I never heard about an email being sent…

You can try to use my tool that lists tags to see if it is somewhere… iDO Tools - Improve Asana with our tools and automations
Also did you look at the history on a task that had the tag? Between comments you might see a mention of what happened.
