There are people in and out of my organization who I would like to be able to send messages to a Project, without being added to the Project itself. I thought they’d be able to use the email address that is generated for the project, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Is there another way for them to send messages to the Project without being members of it?

I believe the email must come from an email address of a user in your Asana org.
To handle those who don’t meet that requirement, you could set up a forward to the Asana project email address in the email app of a user who does meet that requirement, such that any emails sent to that address could be auto-forwarded to the project successfully.
