Can no longer filter by "Completion Status" and "Completed On"

Briefly describe (1-2 sentences) the Bug you’re experiencing:
I have to provide a weekly summary of tasks I’ve completed. I used to be able to filter by completion status, and then when tasks were completed. However, when I filter my tasks by completion status, it now says I can no longer use the “Completed On” filter. Is it possible to return this feature or will I now only be able to use “completed on” when do not have a filter for completion status? I noticed this change 2 weeks ago.

Steps to reproduce:

Browser version:
“Chrome is up to date - Version 116.0.5845.110 (Official Build) (arm64)”

What version of Asana are you using (Basic/Premium/Business/Enterprise)?
Unsure, the app is managed admin at work. I believe I am using Version 1.15.0.

Hi @Vanessa_N , I asked @Stephanie_Nebenzahl to post this here, having replied to her here. (see my notes, it is indeed a strange behaviour)

Hi @Richard_Sather and @Stephanie_Nebenzahl, thanks for flagging this. I’ve been able to replicate this behavior on my end too, so I’ve reached out to our Developers for clarification. I’ll keep you posted

Hi everyone, our Developers have got back to me with some additional details.

This was in fact a change made by our team to support an upcoming launch to refresh the filtering UI in projects and to make filtering behavior clearer to users.

Previously you could filter over ‘completion status’ and ‘completed on’ (date completed) but these filters didn’t work together in an intuitive way, for example:

  • If you filtered over Completion Status = Incomplete and Completed On = Completed Today, you would see no tasks.

  • If you filtered over Completion Status = Complete and Completed On = Completed Today, you would see only tasks completed today.

Unfortunately there’s no plan to bring this back for now, but they’ve noted your feedback for future consideration. Apologies for any inconvenience!
