Can I add identical subtasks to many parent tasks?

What is the fastest, easiest way to add identical subtasks to a bunch of new tasks? For example, I have 50 new tasks that all involve the same workflow. I want to add identical copies of subtasks A, B, C, D, E, F, and G to those tasks so my team can keep track of progress. Other than manually typing those subtasks into each task, how can I make this happen?

I know I can add new tasks in bulk using the CSV importer. I also know it’s possible to add subtasks in the spreadsheet and assign them to parent tasks. But manually copying and pasting the subtasks and the names of the parent tasks is still going to take a long time for 50 tasks. Is there any way to automate this process in Excel or batch edit after import to add the same subtasks to multiple tasks at once?

Hi @anon92304621

You could use an integration tool like Flowsana or Integromat to automatically do that. Both of these are paid services though.

The only way natively in Asana to do it would be to use Task Templates with the relevant SubTasks. But you would need to manually create the 50 New Tasks based on that template…

Hope this helps.

Jason.

Ah, that’s what I thought. Thanks for verifying that it can’t really be done natively. I’ll look into those tools. Thanks!
