I am editing a Project Template and it appears that we can no longer edit the assignee and dates of the task inside the detail panel of the task. I have owner rights on the template.
I can still edit the task in the in-line list view on the Project Template but when I click on the task to open the side-panel detail view, it does not allow edits. It says “You do not have permission to edit the assignee”.
This is manageable for Tasks because we can edit the in-line view, but for Sub-Tasks the detailed view is the only way to access and view/edit. We have Sub-Tasks that need different assignees than the parent Task.
We launched a project from the Template and it appears that if a sub-task does not have an assignee, then the Template is flowing down the Task assignee as the Sub-Task assignee.
Is this a bug or new standard feature of Project Templates?
Hi!
We have a template project in Asana that includes many tasks that have sub-tasks under.
For the sub-tasks, it’s very easy. We can just click on the assignee column in the list view, and assign either a user or role to it.
However, in the template, we don’t see a way of expanding that task in the list view to see the sub-tasks like we can do in live projects. Is there anyway to do that?
Second, is there anyway to go into sub-task and assign from there? When we try this, we are getting the message “You Don’t Have the Permissions to Change the Assignee”, even though I am the owner of the project and have full admin access.
Taking any help we can, thank you so much!
Hi @Leonardo_Corso..
..is it possible to send a full screenshot of this?
Hi @Michael_Barry , I’ve merged @Leonardo_Corso’s post into your as it appears the same bug. As I asked Leonardo, could you upload a screenshot?
See screenshot of the permission error when editing the Project Template - this just occurred for the first time today after previously being able to edit.
My team is also having this issue.
this is very important to get fixed. Can we get an ETA? Should I open a support ticket as well or is this already on the eyes of the dev team?
@Forum-team , could you kindly escalate?
Thanks!
@Jacob_Kelley and others, it would help to also create a support ticket: see How to contact our Support Team, and be sure to mention multiple people/teams are experiencing this and it should be escalated/expedited.
Thanks,
Larry
It appears that the issue has now been resolved.
Very helpful. We use sub task all the time in our work flow.
