Bug: “Inherited fields grouped by project” update hides “Actual Time” custom field on subtasks

Hi Asana team and community,

Some users in our organization (not all) recently received a UI update that groups inherited custom fields by project on tasks.

It’s a great improvement, but we’re seeing a critical issue: the built-in/custom field “Actual Time” appears on the main task, but does not appear on subtasks after this update.

Expected behavior
Subtasks should show the “Actual Time” field (as before), so we can record and track time per subtask.

Actual behavior
With the new “group inherited fields” UI, subtasks no longer show “Actual Time” (even though it’s available/visible in the old UI).

Impact
This blocks our workflow, since we rely on “Actual Time” to record the duration of each subtask under a main task.

I’ve attached screenshots comparing:

  1. Old UI (inherited fields visible — highlighted in red)

  2. New UI (inherited fields grouped — “Actual Time” missing on subtasks)

Questions

  • Is there a way to disable/revert this UI update for our workspace to avoid the issue?

  • If not, can you confirm this is a bug and whether there’s an ETA for a fix?

Thanks!
