Asana Subtasks Not Showing Inherited Fields? Here is why.

If your first-level subtasks in Asana are not showing inherited fields, there is a reason, and a workaround.

I ran into this in one of my own projects. Two projects, same settings. One showed inherited fields inside the subtasks. The other did not. I could not find the difference until I did.

The condition is this: when “Actual Time” is the only active field in a project, inherited fields stop appearing in the first-level subtasks. That is the exact scenario my project had.

The fix is simple. Add one or two additional fields to the project. You do not need to use them. Hide them if you want. The inherited fields come back immediately.
