Has anyone else recently noticed that the Actual Time (native asana field) vanished from projects? It seemed to be a glitch that resolved itself, but now when selecting multiple tasks to calculate the actual or estimated tasks, the actual time doesn’t show.
This is very annoying as now we need to do that math manually, which the option of selecting certain tasks resolved.
It seems like maybe when the “glitch” resolved, a new field was added and that might be why it doesn’t connect?
I haven’t noticed it disappear from my projects but a weird thing that may be related:
In the custom fields library, Estimated time is a field created by Asana. When you add ‘Time tracking’ to projects, the Actual time field gets added with the Estimated time field, but the Actual time field does not appear in the custom fields library.
I also noticed that if you’re building reports in a dashboard and time is a variable you want to use, Estimated time appears in both a ‘native’ time variables list provided by Asana (in various dashboard drop down lists) and in the custom fields list. I never know whether the Estimated time object in the ‘native’ list is the one I should be using or the one in the custom field list. Actual time does not appear in the custom fields list but does appear in the ‘native’ list.
Not really sure it’s related to your issue but I do think there is something weird going on with how Estimated time / Actual time fields are handled in Asana’s data model.

Huh, interesting that it’s not showing up and is being treated differently for you. That implies to me that something has definitely changed functionality wise with the native time tracking.
