Badges got ugly in Asana. Is this a bug or another terrible UI decision like those faded pastel colors?

In the last few days, all badges in all our projects went from the more compact pill shape to an uglier and chunkier rectangle like this:

Is this a bug or another permanent new UI element that has gotten worse? Already spent way too much time trying to change project colors from the faded pastel colors back to the old vibrant ones. Is there a way to change the shape of these back to how it was or is this the new reality?
