Automatically adding today's date to Status Update Templates

I love that we can make Status Update Templates now! One thing that the pre-template system did well was automatically adding today’s date to the title (at least by default when a title wasn’t added). Is there a way to include today’s date in the template, either like it used to or via some other field?

Hi @Max_Binder, great question! At the moment, Status Update Templates don’t have a way to automatically insert today’s date into the title like the previous system did.

A couple quick workarounds I’ve seen help:

  1. Add a placeholder in your template title like “Weekly status [DATE]” so it’s easy to overwrite when you post
  2. Use your OS text replacement or a text expander snippet to drop in today’s date with a few keystrokes
