Automaticallly create Messages to Teams

Hi,

I’ve got a recurring task that serves as a bi-weekly summary of updates from a bunch of departments. Each department head has a subtask in which they do a comment and then complete their subtask. Using rules, once all subtasks are completed, Asana AI is now taking all the comments in the different subtasks and putting them together into a neat little summary as a comment in the main task.

I would love to be able to grab this summary and then create a Message that’s sent to teams X, Y, Z, but I can’t find a way to create messages based on workflows/rules.

Any ideas?

Indeed, Asana rules don’t support the creation of Messages (yet).

Could we use Custom scripts in Rules for that purpose?
(available in Enterprise plans only)

We can’t because Messages are not part of the API. adding @Phil_Seeman the boss to have a second opinion :slight_smile:

We’ll simply have to solve it the old fashion-copy/paste-way for now
