I used to be able to open a task in any project and when I printed it from the 3-dot option at the top right it would print all the subtasks and the subtasks under each subtask.
It was very helpful for our IT Technicians. Now when I print a task it only prints the top layer and will not show the subtasks. See attached.
On another note, if it is indeed a permanent change being rolled out, @lpb has created an amazing free tool called Asana2Go.com that allows you to print out a task w/ subtasks
Hi! Mine is doing that too but what I am saying is my tasks have subtasks and sometimes those subtasks have subtasks. It used to print everything that was in the main task showing all levels of each subtask. I wish I had a copy of how it used to print but I don’t. I already tried the Asana2Go print feature, but it did not print everything either. Thank you, Bryan!
I have never used the print functionality in Asana - never understood the reason for it
But I’d be surprised if it ever displayed more than one level of subtasks!
I was going to point to the same request @Rashad_Issa did; that’s the only A/B I’m aware of.
My Asana2Go prints the first level of subtasks for whichever tasks you ask to print (so if you select multiple subtasks, then you’ll see all their sub-subtasks).
I only stopped descending the nesting chain due to time constraints…
And although I almost never print Asana these days or ever, in the past I have had use cases for this type of printout…often to do a walkaround and get updates in person (when all else has failed). It’s easier to do the round of the 5th floor with a printout and take quick notes, than lug a laptop, navigate around, type while standing up etc. The Asana print format is A++ ideal for this.
That is exactly what we used it for. It was a way to look at everything at once instead of going in and out of tasks which leaves room for errors if you’re not careful.
I’d like to update my answer - @Jennifer_Karsner , you described printing a Task, and I do replicate the limitation you mentioned - only the first level of Subtasks shows up.
It’s when I print a Project that I get the deep-nested view. To me, it’s overall a better view, and you can print any filtered or sorted view that exists in your project, so please try that and see how it works for you.
