Briefly describe (1-2 sentences) the Bug you’re experiencing: The asana widget is blank sometimes when placed on the home screen (Android)
Steps to reproduce:
- Install Asana widget on Android screen
- Sometimes when unlocking your phone or viewing the widget, it will be blank
Browser version:
- One UI 5.1
- Android version 13
What version of Asana are you using (Basic/Premium/Business/Enterprise)?

Hi @Bryan_Matias, sorry for the trouble. I’ve escalated the case to our Developers and they will investigate that for you. As soon as I have any updates I’ll let you know!

While we don’t have a specific timeframe to provide at the moment, I’m actively monitoring the escalation process and will keep you posted with any updates right here in the Forum!
I noticed this can be replicated when I have two widgets with tasks from different projects
I’m also having this issue. I found this forum while googling for a solution. Any tips to fix it?

I have the same issue. It has been happening for well over a year. I have un-installed and re-installed the app and the widget multiple times and it still hapens.

Same here, to fix you have to open the app from widget go in the task screen and then minize the app, then your task will be in widget.
But its pretty annoying cuz they will just disapear again a later point

This is what I get when tapping on any task on the widget
I’m glad you reported this, @Christos_Fragkakis !
I occasionally experience the same, but instead, when I tap to open a system notification from Asana. It opens the Asana app and sits there blank 
I usually have to swipe back and then tap on the Inbox notification to open it correctly which is a bit annoying!

Hi @Richard_Sather and @Christos_Fragkakis, I investigated this further and we already have a bug opened for this issue. I’ve gone ahead and merged this post into Asana widget is blank on Android.
We don’t have an estimated ETA to solve this issue but we will update the thread as soon as we have any news.

Emily the issue you merged in is not the same.
The original issue here is with the display of the Android widget itself on the home screen.
The megred issue seems to be in regards to opening a task view from the widget, and that view being blank.
Thanks for the heads up @Alan_Lee! We are working on an update to the Android widget that will solve both issues. I consolidated the reports into one thread and I will let you know once we launched the updated widget

Not trying to be annoying, but can you help me understand why these are merged? I understand that they’re both issues which include the Android widget, and that they may both be addressed in an upcoming app update, but they are different topics.
The topic of this post is “Asana widget is blank on Android”, referring to UI elements of the widget itself.
The merged issue relates to content in the launched Asana app itself, not the widget. The widget is relevant to the second issue because it’s how the app is being launched, but the user-experienced issue for that is in the app, not the widget.
If the upcoming app update resolves one of these issues but not the other, then the status of this issues as open or closed cannot be accurate, as the scope of this topic would have grown to include two separate issues that have separate statuses.
I love these forums and I really appreciate them, so I just want to make sure that they continue to reflect the various concerns of the community.
