What is Smart chat?
AI Chat is part of the recently unveiled family of Asana AI products: AI Teammates. This innovative chat assistant is designed to help you retrieve insights and take action directly via a widget following your navigation everywhere on Asana.

How does Smart chat work?
Smart chat combines and enhances several AI features into one seamless experience:

Required plan and cost? (Usage)
AI Chat is available on Asana Starter, Advanced, Enterprise, and Enterprise+ plans.
However, each plan comes with a limit determined by the number of AI actions completed per month. Every time AI chat generates a response, that response counts as an AI action.

How to Activate Smart chat
Admins can enable AI Chat in the admin console by toggling on both 
“Asana AI - Anthropic” and “Asana AI - OpenAI”. Once activated, it can be accessed by all users in the organization via the stardust icon (top right corner)
Tips for Effective Use
- Data Quality Dependence: The accuracy of responses relies on the quality of underlying data, and AI chat won’t replace best practices in terms of task naming, tasks description, Asana comments for collaboration & else…
- “AI Hallucinations”: Occasionally, the AI may produce errors, so always review AI-created content.

- Search Related Questions: Quickly find tasks where your manager assigned specific actions.
- Resource Identification: Identify the right contact for any topic.
- Task Creation: Automate simple task creation with natural language commands.
- Deadline Management: Track and manage deadlines more effectively.
