I get a ton of bot / rule notifications every day in my ASANA inbox on my tasks. I don’t want to see these - it’s hard to see what’s actually important.
Short answer: There is no way to filter out only bot or rule-generated notifications in the Inbox right now.
A few practical workarounds I use:
Use the Inbox filter for focus. When you need a signal only, switch to @Mentions or ‘Assigned to me’ so you only see items that directly require your attention.
Tweak the rules. If a rule is posting a comment, consider switching the action to something quieter, like setting a custom field, moving sections, or adding a tag instead of adding a comment. That keeps the audit trail without pinging everyone.
Trim collaborators. If you do not need ongoing updates on a task, remove yourself as a collaborator. You will still get notified if someone assigns it to you or @mentions you.
Keep a personal signal view. Some folks star key tasks or use My Tasks sections to pull in only items that really matter, then treat the Inbox as a quick sweep.
I’ve shared this feedback with our team because a filter for automated updates would help.
