I found it’s required to invite manager to each project under the portfolio to be able to see the updates, is there anyway to grant manager full access to projects under his/her team? Manager is team admin in this case.

When inviting someone to a portfolio; there is a checkbox to invite them to all projects. Would that work?

Right, there’s a checkbox to grant them access to all projects I have access to, but there’s still a risk to miss projects which I don’t have access to. I feel if we’d like to avoid manually inviting managers to all the projects then we need to set access permission to all the projects to be shared with the team, but it’s sometime overwhelming as it’s unnecessory to give access to the whole team.
One more question, if we only give the team member Viewer access, will they still get notifications for updates?
Agreed, but by definition if you don’t have access, you can’t grant them access either…

I mean as will project member with Viewer access also get status updates as notification?
Yes, all members of a project can receive status updates, as long as they have these enabled for the particular project under the ‘Manage notifications’ panel in the Share button.

Tks for reply. But to my understanding, ‘Manage notifications’ panel only set the notification for specific member as individual person, but what i mean is what I share the project with ‘Team only’, and give the team ’ Viewer’ permission, what notice or updates will the team get in this case? And what if give them ‘Commenter’ permission, any difference in the matter of updates receiving?
Hi @Bei_Ding . What I meant previously by ‘all members’ meant regardless of their project permission roles. So the answer is it does not make a difference to whether they can receive notifications.
