Sooo many people have been asking for archived tasks to be hidden away since 2017, whether in reports, My Tasks, or search. I am astounded that Asana has not yet implemented this.
My assumption for “Archive” is that the task would no longer show up in my list of things to do (My Tasks). Archived projects should no longer show up in search or in tasks as the project is not active, but archived.
As an example, I work with clients on a monthly basis. We plan tasks for next month, two months out, three months out, etc. If a client cancels after the first month I want to archive their project so it doesn’t show that it needs to be done.
Deleting the project isn’t an option b…
A decent work-around which I haven’t seen posted is to create a new team that is specifically for archived projects and templates. Then in ‘advanced search > add filter > in teams’ lets you you select the team you want your search results pulled from. As long as you aren’t a search across teams this options functions nicely.
That said, this feature is a fairly standard function in so many data systems (I use quickbooks and this is a checkbox at the bottom of every search). Can’t imagine why…

Some of our projects are archived to kept track, unfinished tasks will be copied to the new project for the next iteration. Some less important tasks will be kept in the old project.
Is there anyway to hide those tasks from “my tasks”? It pollute my dashboard and distracting.
