Continue to default board view columns to match list view’s sections, but also enable alternate choices, for example, that the columns could correspond to a chosen select custom field’s option values. For example, if the project had a Priority single-select field I could choose it and the columns w…

@Marwan_Khan , I’ve merged your post into an existing thread I created earlier on the same topic where you can click the title to scroll to the top and vote by clicking the purple Vote button. Thanks, Larry

The fact that Asana allows a task to be in a “Completed” column in my personal board but still in the “To do” column of the project is weird but I can see how that may make sense in some scenarios. However, the fact that there is no out-of-the-box way to make a task that is in “Completed” in my per…

Welcome, @anon55569810 , I appreciate that Jira may have some extra features that you need, but please be aware that Asana does provide a way out-of-the-box (for Premium and above plans) add a rule to any project to move a completed task to a Completed section (and vice versa): [image] Rul…

Thanks for your reply. I see that rule and it only helps partially. As far as I can tell, a task can be Completed AND in the “In Progress” section in my personal task board AND in the “To do” section in project A AND in the “Prioritized” section in project B at the same time and as far as I can …

Yes, add the rule I mentioned to each of My Tasks, Project A, and Project B. It may not be helpful to you, but I know many other use cases where the behavior you ask for is undesirable, so it’s left up to each workflow/project to implement the automation desired. Thanks, Larry

Sorry, I didn’t express what I want clearly. My apologies. Let me try again: Not only do I want completed tasks to be moved the the “Completed” section in the project, but I also want tasks in the “In Progress” section on a user’s personal task board to be moved to the “In Progress” section of any …

Not natively, but perhaps for free with a connector app like make.com or zapier.com , or perhaps with Flowsana.net (cc @Phil_Seeman ).

Thanks for confirming. I already reached out to Flowsana but it doesn’t look like it’s possible.

Hi @anon55569810 , I just replied to your Flowsana support ticket but thought I would reply here as well. Flowsana doesn’t currently have any functionality to do this automatically. It’s an interesting idea and one that has been suggested before. In fact, we have a portal for product suggestions an…

Hi Phil, thanks for getting back to me - I appreciate it! I used to be a software engineer and I understand that in Asana’s data model, a section is local to a project and not an attribute of a task. The same goes for the order of tasks, which is also local to every project as well as to my persona…
