I love saved views in project templates.
What I wish I could do though, is adjust the column width and save that like one could in a project.

Dear,
I’m busy with a project template, but to make the different collumns (with pre filled values) more visible I want to change the size of the collumns. But for some reason it is not possible. Any one an idea how to do this?
The name collumn is so wide.
Hello @Niels_Oomen. I hope you are having a great day so far. Thank you very much for your question, and allow me to help you with it. Unfortunately, Asana doesn’t currently support manually adjusting column widths in the list view for project templates. The task name column and custom field columns are automatically sized by the system and can’t be resized by dragging the column borders. However, here are some workarounds that you can consider:
1. “Save View” button
2. Shorten Task Names
If the task name column is taking up too much space, consider using shorter, more concise task names in your template
Add detailed information in the task description instead when you open the task detail pane
3. Use Board View as an Alternative
Switch to Board view where custom fields display differently
Custom fields appear as cards with better spacing
You can set different field visibility for Board vs. List view
I know this isn’t the ideal solution you hoped for, but these workarounds should help improve visibility of your custom fields. If you’d like column widths to be saved in templates, I’ve shared this feedback with our team. You can also add your vote here so others can find and support it: https://forum.asana.com/c/forum-en/product-feedback/20
Hope this helps a bit, Niels. Enjoy your Asana experience!

Hello @Elluz_Macalinao,
Thanks for the feedback. But as expected none of the workarounds are things I can consider. I could not find the item to vote on for this.
Not your fault, but I do not understand why such things are not possible and are not helping with the Asana experience.
Hi @Niels_Oomen,
There is now a English Forum > Product Feedback post requesting this feature so I merged your discussion into it. You can now vote for this feature using the Vote button at the top of the thread!
Thanks @Niels_Oomen for your feedback! I empathize with your pain point here as an internal champion for improving the functionality of Project Templates. This isn’t yet on our roadmap, but I’ve made sure to document ![]()
