Alert for timeline clashes of dependent tasks

When a task is delayed and then clashes with a dependent task, you currently only notice this when manually checking for red arrows in the timeline view. It would be really helpful if the owners of the affected tasks got an alert upon a change in timeline/due date that generates a clash.

We are working on a large number of projects with many different assignees in parallel, so it is easy to miss if someone changes the expected end date of a task. Having everyone follow all possibly relevant tasks is not a good fix for us, as it would spam the inboxes with lots of unrelevant updates.

In addition, it would be great if you could add an advanced warning for selected upcoming due dates. E.g. automatically sending the task owner a notification 1 week before a specific task is due.

Welcome to the Forum @Martina and thank you so much for sharing your feedback with us!

If I understood correctly, you would like to receive a notification when the status of task you are waiting on (dependant) has changed, correct?

This feature is already available. Every time the precedent task of your dependant task has its dude date changed or removed you will receive a notification. (Please see screenshot attached)

You will also receive an inbox notification when a task that has been assigned to you is approaching its due date.

You can find more information about inbox notifications in the following article: https://asana.com/guide/help/fundamentals/inbox#gl-stories

I hope this helps! Please, let me know if you have any follow-up question!
