We have an AI Studio powered rule that was working 2 days ago. But now, every time it is trigged, we get this in the Activity Log of the task:
Asana failed to take action

The “last run” info in the rule says “Last run just now” but the run history is not logging the runs.
Has anybody else seen this? Any ideas on how to diagnose or fix the issue?
For reference:
- We are not out of AI credits
- Other AI Studio automations are working
- The AI Rule is not showing as broken
- It says that the AI instructions are optimized
- The org is on the Advanced Plan

Now other AI actions are also failing. At this point, it’s probably just an outage. I’ll watch status.asana.com

If you put your mouse over that message, does any explanation show up? AI Studio is getting better at explaining the situation, it wasn’t always the case, but now we always see some kind of explanation

We have been seeing this is some of our rules. I think it could be related to the Model you are using since in some cases, switching from GPT to Claude made the rule work again.

@Bastien_Siebman - No, unfortunately no explanation as to why it failed. Just a tooltip showing which rule failed and when clicked, it goes to the rule.
Hi everyone, sorry for the delay!
I checked internally, and there haven’t been any recent outages or known bugs that could have impacted AI Studio.
@Bryan_TeamKickstart, did you have a chance to try Esteban’s suggestion and switch the model to see if it makes any difference?
Either way, I’d strongly recommend reporting this to our Support team. They can review the logs and escalate the issue to our Developers if needed.
Let me know if you run into any trouble reaching out to Support!
@Vanessa_N - yes, I switched the model and the error continued to happen. @Esteban_Giannini thanks so much for the idea though. I appreciate it.
Re: reaching out to support, I still can’t access the help center or ticketing, but I’ll use the “temporary” support form to submit it. Thank you for following up.
My guess is that it has to do with AI rate limiting, but can’t know for sure because the AI Studio Usage metrics in the admin console are also not working.
