Advise on Reviewing my Asana Rules across all my projects.

So now with the implementation of AI Studio how it can help build better rules that are more flexible. I was thinking it is time to review my rules that I have built into my Projects.

Well how do I do that???

Unlike Custom Fields there currently isn’t a Rule Library for my organisation. So no central spot..

I tried to ask Asana AI tried a couple of ways but it didn’t really help, it ended up focusing on either a specific rule in a project that I was using as an example or just tasks that mentioned rules.

So my question is what approach/suggestions do you have?

For the API guru’s can you get a list of rules and their details from the API?

I have put this on the back burner for a bit whilst I think of some options? So would be very appreciative of any feedback.

Regards

Jason.

Hi @Jason_Woods , unfortunately the API doesn’t support rules, currently

I generally say if something is working fine, then let it be, until it’s not ‘fine’ anymore..

If you want to improve any rules, I would try to document your system somehow, either via SOPs or diagrams using Miro or equivalent. That may help pinpoint what actually needs improving.

AI Studio is amazing, but it’s not always the best solution for all rules - it may also come at a cost. Classic custom rules work absolutely fine and always reliable at no extra cost.

Thanks for the advise @Richard_Sather

I probably should have added I am lazy… So documenting is something that causes Night Terrors…

Plus i am the only user…

But yes am a firm Believer is if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. But also have noticed the rule that I Created 3 months ago for Project X. Works differently that the rule that I created Last Week for Project Y.. Which works best or could work better is where my brain goes..

I think for mey biggest ask would be a Rules Repository inside Asana..

That’s what Bundles essentially are for - one of the main reasons for upgrading to Enterprise!
