Hi @Emily_Roman ! Now that it’s November, can we get an update regarding the toolbar A/B test? Still missing that Search This Project feature…
I miss the “search this project” button so bad
The closest I can come to for a workaround is
- Use the advanced search to search for a) a task b) in any of these projects = my project
- Click search, then in the results, click the star to favourite the search, (which has replaced the old save this search feature )
- Copy the URL for that saved search
- Paste the link for that saved search into the project’s overview description.
- Remove the star on the search because you can still reach it via your link.
- Vote for the feature request that hopefully the forum admin is about to refer me to
Upvoting this one. It’s frustrating to have to search all of Asana and then filter it down when I want to search for a specific card within a specific project.
We should be able to search easily for a task/card within a project when we are on that project’s page.
They seem to be working very hard to destroy functionality
Please add this feature back! It’s a source of daily frustration.
Same Here
Please bring back the “search this project” quick filter
We are losing a lot of time using the general advanced search since you have removed the quick filter
I support this
Please bring back this search this project
it’s a must have !
I can see a lot of similar requests
the main topic is here
Thank you for these excellent tips!
Please bring back this functionality! If you were to measure efficiency in terms of # of clicks, removing this function reduces efficiency. I actually don’t see any benefit to removing it. The people have spoken!
Please bring back the old option !
I see Asana has marked it as “considered” so I have hope.
Can this please be fixed. I’m literally working on one project and the search is looking for tasks across the whole org.
I think the current project should be default scope instead of the whole org.
This should be a standard function when is it being reimplemented?
There used to be a Search This Project option (or something to that effect, can’t recall the words exactly).
It’s been gone for many months. I submitted request 01243500 to Asana support weeks ago, but radio silence for weeks so checking here.
Is there a method with less clicks that effectively searches text within the current active project, other than clicking the search bar, clicking the Show Advanced Search, clicking the Location dropdown, clicking the In Any Of These Projects options, moving your hand from mouse to keyboard to type in the name of the project you are currently on, clicking the Project name to select it and finally entering the text to search for and clicking Search? Am I unreasonable for not wanting to perform this many steps for something I used to do very often when the Search This Project was available? This one has been pretty frustrating, any insight at all would be greatly appreciated.
Hi @Bill_Hoisington ,
I’ve merged your request to the existing thread about this. You can add your vote at the top.
It is marked as considered, so I am hopeful the feature will return.
Thank you, much appreciated.
This is absolutely unbelievable that they would intentionally remove this capability and I’m not surprised to see a host of people feeling the same. Do we have an explanation for the reasoning behind the removal?
I cannot fathom what the conversation behind closed doors constituting, “let’s remove fundamental capability to A/B test,” was like, in particular what purpose or benefit was reasoned. To see how much pain Asana members are willing to withstand? One answer here, I’m running short and starting to consider recommending alternative options to Asana to my team, especially since this “A/B test” started in Aug of 2024 and it’s now Feb of 2025 with, I would imagine, no end in site.
