is it possible to show pictures in an Asana custom field? For example to show an upgoing trend with a green arrow or similar…

You can’t use images, but you can find an UTF-8 / unicode character that can be used for you needs.
You can use any utf-8 character in name or values of your custom fields, like these:
🠕 ⇑ etc.
